TIBCO ActiveMatrix Registry
TIBCO ActiveMatrix™ Registry is a standards-based system of record for discovering, categorizing, and publishing services.
- Enhances service reuse by making it easy to categorize, publish, discover, and reuse services across development teams and departments.
- Improves service consistency and quality with structured approval processes.
- Improves development agility through change management and subscription-based notification.
- Increases deployment control through fine-grained security access control and automated deployment to separate registries in development, testing, staging, and production.
- Improves operational governance and flexibility through integration with TIBCO's underlying repository infrastructure.
ActiveMatrix Registry is a fully V3-compliant implementation of UDDI (Universal Description, Discovery and Integration), and is a key component of a service-oriented architecture (SOA). The product is an easy-to-use, standards-based mechanism for publishing and discovering web services and related resources like XML Schemas or XSLT transformations.
ActiveMatrix Registry fully implements the OASIS UDDI V3 standard. It can be deployed in almost any Java environment and works with all popular database systems. In addition, the ActiveMatrix Registry has been designed specifically for enterprise deployment and includes many advanced features that make it easy to configure, deploy, manage, and secure. ActiveMatrix Registry is also easy to customize to support different enterprise user communities.
TIBCO ActiveMatrix Registry extends the core UDDI V3 standard with unique functionality designed for enterprise applications.
Key Features
- Advanced Security allows for defining granular access control for registered components. Component publisher can specify find, get, modify, and delete access permissions for every published object.
- Data Accuracy and Quality Enforcement mechanisms ensure that component registrations are accurate and up-to-date. ActiveMatrix Registry clearly defines responsibility for every registered component. It offers component promotion and approval mechanisms for promoting components between development, QA, and production environments.
- Subscription and Notification for automatically notifying ActiveMatrix Registry users about changes to components that they depend on.
- Selective Replication among multiple registries allows for automated propagation between different registries (e.g. between internal and external registries).
- Advanced Taxonomy Management for enforcement of well-defined taxonomies.
- Powerful Management for granular control, logging, and auditing of the publishing and discovery processes.
- Performance and Scalability – UDDI provides maximum performance and scalability by efficient implementation of web services stack and database algorithms and by supporting a load balancing and clustering mechanism.
ActiveMatrix Registry is a platform-independent solution that can be deployed in a wide variety of settings. ActiveMatrix Registry can run either standalone or within an application server. Many application servers, ranging from Tomcat to BEA WebLogic, IBM Websphere, or JBoss are supported. ActiveMatrix Registry also provides unrivalled support for a broad set of database management systems for storing registrations (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL Server, IBM DB/2, PostgreSQL and HSQL). ActiveMatrix Registry also integrates with both LDAP and Microsoft ActiveDirectory.
